ABOUT US
Montessori Consortium, together with its member Montessori schools, is committed to upholding and furthering the principles and practices formulated by Dr. Maria Montessori for the full development of the human being. The purposes of Montessori Consortium are (1) to advance and support Montessori education in the United States and abroad, (2) to promote the interchange of American and foreign teachers in Montessori schools, and (3) the enhancement of mutual understanding between people of the United States and other countries. Through the Exchange Visitor Program, teachers of many different races and cultures are placed in schools across the United States to promote mutual understanding between the United States and other countries.
The exchange visitors with Montessori Consortium (and its member schools) are teachers with diplomas from the Association Montessori Internationale and a minimum of three (3) years teaching or related professional experience. (See eligibility requirements below.) The teachers in the Exchange Visitor Program participate in cross-cultural activities and share their own cultures and experiences in the classroom and with other teachers and member schools. The member schools of Montessori Consortium also share educational resources and promote international education and cultural exchange, while advancing, supporting and expanding Montessori education in the United States and abroad.
